Prof. Dr. Sivakumar is a management academic with more than 2 decades of experience. His Primary area of interest is Marketing. Within the marketing domain, he has taught several courses like Brand Management, Consumer Behaviour, International Marketing, Design for Marketing including Rural Marketing (at IIM-Bangalore). He has taught at Oakland University USA as an exchange faculty and at the National Institute of Agricultural Marketing Jaipur as a visiting faculty.

His other areas of interest include Agribusiness, Written Analysis & Communication, Design and Healthcare.

He completed a 2-year post-doctoral research on providing healthcare products and services for the Base of the Pyramid (BoP) consumers at TU Delft Netherlands. His research has appeared in international journals like International Journal of Retailing and Distribution Management. He has published a book on Retail Marketing. Two of his cases have won awards at the annual ISB-Ivey case competitions. He has close to a dozen cases published through case clearing houses like Ivey cases, Case Center and Harvard case collection.

He has consulted on marketing for organizations like CAMPCO, Corporation Bank and Mahyco. He is an expert on Assurance of Learning (AoL) in particular and the AACSB accreditation process. AACSB invited him to present at their first Asia-Pacific ICAM meeting. He is also a co-facilitator in AACSB’s AoL seminars. He has taught at executive education programs in IIM-B and IIM-K. He has facilitated several case teaching and writing workshops. He was a participant at Harvard Business School’s Global Colloquium in 2015.

Dr Sivakumar’s business school experience spans teaching, research, consulting, executive education, faculty development, and academic administration. He has been a resource person in the use of new pedagogical tools like simulations in marketing courses.

Prior to his academic entry, Prof. Sivakumar served at quasi-government organisation for more than 2 years.
