The Program
IIM Visakhapatnam is pleased to announce the launch of the ‘Nurturing Future Leadership Programs’ series, a prestigious capacity-building initiative under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Program (MMTTP) of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI).
Target Audience
This programme is designed for emerging leaders aiming to enhance their role in the success of their educational institute. It is open to permanent faculty from any discipline with at least three years of teaching experience in Centrally Funded Institutes, Institutes of National Importance, State Public Universities, and Private HEIs.
The programme is ideal for faculty members seeking leadership roles in formal and informal educational settings. Early career faculty identified for leadership responsibilities, being groomed for promotions, or advancing towards leadership positions will benefit from this programme.
Objective of the Program
This program is intended to create a leadership pipeline in the HEIs. It is envisaged that faculty members completing this program successfully will imbibe/acquire the attributes, skills and knowledge imparted, to evolve as efficient and effective academic administrators.

Free Program
The program is being fully funded by the Ministry of Education, GoI. This is a residential program and IIMV will take care of the on-campus board and lodging (single occupancy) of the participants. However, the travel costs of the participants shall need to be borne by the respective HEIs themselves.
In case of the HEIs opting to nominate more than 2 participants, they will have to bear full cost (cost of training and travel cost) for those additional participants.
Nominations
Public funded HEIs may nominate two permanent faculty members with at least 3 years of teaching experience to participate in this program. The number of participants is being restricted to 40 (Forty). Nominations will therefore be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

Authorized Nominating Authorities may fill in the Nomination Form provided below for their nominees and ensure that the duly signed PDF/scanned copies are uploaded to the portal https://mmc.ugc.ac.in/
Certification
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a certificate from IIM Visakhapatnam under the aegis of MMTTP.

The Leadership Effectiveness Program for Odisha Govt. School Headmasters
The Leadership Effectiveness for School Administrators program at IIM Visakhapatnam is a capacity-building initiative aimed at strengthening the leadership and administrative competencies of headmasters from secondary government schools in Odisha. Conducted in collaboration with the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) and the Department of School and Mass Education, Government of Odisha, this program is aligned with the national framework of Mission Karmayogi, which focuses on enhancing the professional effectiveness of public servants. Leadership Development Program for principals of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas
The Leadership Development Program at IIM Visakhapatnam, conducted in collaboration with the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is a five-day executive learning initiative tailored for principals of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Anchored in the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the program is designed to strengthen the strategic, emotional, and administrative competencies of school leaders, enabling them to foster inclusive, future-ready, and high-performing learning environments. Core Objectives: Cultivate value-based and adaptive leadership aligned with the dynamic needs of school education, Enhance emotional intelligence to build positive school cultures and strengthen teacher-student relationship, Promote pedagogical innovation and entrepreneurial mindsets to nurture creativity and critical thinking among students, Equip leaders with tools for financial management, digital branding, and strategic decision-making in the school context. Mid-Career Management Development Program – ICMR Scientists
The Mid-Career Management Development Program is a joint initiative by IIM Visakhapatnam and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), designed to strengthen the leadership, strategic decision-making, and research management capabilities of mid-career scientists in Grades “D”, “E”, and “F”. This two-week immersive program focuses on building core competencies in health research management, ethical governance, and adaptive leadership. It emphasizes the integration of science, industry, and society while promoting innovation, collaboration, and responsiveness to emerging scientific and technological trends. Participants engage in functional and behavioural modules covering proposal writing, crisis communication, financial management, and emerging areas such as gamified innovation and the Metaverse. The 70-20-10 learning model ensures a balance between classroom learning (10%), social learning and mentoring (20%), and on-the-job application (70%). A key feature is the group project addressing real ICMR challenges, fostering peer learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The program aims to cultivate a solution-oriented mindset, enhance inter-departmental collaboration, and prepare participants to contribute meaningfully to India’s scientific and technological advancement, aligned with the nation’s vision for 2047. | |||||
Young Scientist Induction Program
The Young Scientists Induction Program is a pioneering initiative designed by the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to foster the professional development of young scientists and science administrators. The program focuses on building and enhancing the participants' competencies in managing people, projects, processes, and products while simultaneously nurturing their leadership and innovation capacities. With a blend of functional and behavioral training, this comprehensive program seeks to bridge the gap between science, industry, and society, aligning with the country’s socio-economic priorities. Structured over four weeks, the program provides participants with practical exposure to research and innovation projects, facilitating cross-fertilization of ideas through interactions with renowned scientists, industry experts, and academic leaders. Participants are expected to gain insights into contemporary issues such as science policy formulation, healthcare analytics, and the role of emerging technologies in healthcare. The incorporation of a 70-20-10 learning model ensures a holistic development experience, combining classroom learning with real-world application and peer collaboration. The Central Vigilance Commission-supported program on Public Procurement is being conducted by IIM Visakhapatnam for the Chief Vigilance Officers (CVOs) of Public Sector Enterprises. This three-day capacity-building programme aims to enhance participants’ understanding of public procurement systems and strengthen transparency and accountability in procurement practices. The program covers a wide range of key topics, including procurement of goods and services, international procurement procedures, dispute resolution mechanisms, preparation of tender documents, and adherence to the Code of Integrity. This five-day capacity-building programme is designed to equip senior professionals and government officials with the knowledge and skills required to lead and manage complex digital transformation initiatives in the public sector. The training programme on “Digital Governance” is being conducted by IIM Visakhapatnam under the aegis of the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India. This five-day capacity-building programme aims to empower government officials and public sector professionals with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in digital governance. It is designed to support the Government of India's vision for a digitally enabled, citizen-centric administration. The program on “Applications of AI/ML” is being conducted by IIM Visakhapatnam under the aegis of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, as part of the Digital India initiative. This two-day capacity-building programme is designed to strengthen the understanding and practical application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) among government officials and public sector professionals. The objective is to promote data-driven governance, innovation, and efficiency in public service delivery. The workshop on “Principles of FIDIC Contracts” is being conducted by IIM Visakhapatnam for the officers of the Directorate General Naval Projects (DGNP), Visakhapatnam. This three-day capacity-building programme aims to enhance participants' understanding of international standards in contract management, with a specific focus on FIDIC contract forms widely used in infrastructure projects globally. The program on Public Procurement is being conducted by IIM Visakhapatnam under the aegis of the Procurement Policy Division (PPD), Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. This five-day capacity-building programme is specially designed for officers from Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), with the objective of enhancing their understanding and implementation of public procurement practices in alignment with government policies and regulatory frameworks.
