Dr. Sunitha has an MA (Teaching English as a Second Language) and a PhD (English Language Education) from the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. Her PhD thesis was titled "Effect of Explicit Instruction of Formulaic Sequences on the Oral Fluency of Young ESL Learners". Her research has centred around Second Language Acquisition with the primary focus on formulaic sequences and oral fluency.
