- Only Indian nationals residing in India are eligible to apply for PDF.
- Applicants must have a consistently good academic record and demonstrated research potential.
- The age limit for applications for the PDFs is 35 years (this limit may be relaxed by 5 years for Women, PwD, SC/ST, OBC and EWS applicants).
- Candidates should have a PhD degree from a centrally funded institution of high repute like IIMs, IITs, IISERs, IISc Bangalore, Central Universities, or such other globally recognized Indian or foreign institutions of comparable standards as may be decided by IIMV.
- Candidates should apply within three years of obtaining PhD degree. The thesis must be in appropriate management disciplines.
- Those who have submitted their thesis for PhD degree may also apply. However, such candidates are expected to complete the PhD programme and submit provisional degree certificate at the time of joining as PDF.
- From the PhD thesis, the applicant should have at least one research publication (n<=4) in ABDC (A) or higher category journals. PhD chair and with consultation with area chair will confirm that paper is part of PhD thesis or not.
