Admissions Process for EPGDPM 2025
The one-year Executive Post-Graduate Diploma Program in Management (EPGDPM) program at IIM Visakhapatnam is specifically crafted for the officers and executives in the defence production sector. Under the guidance of Department of Defence Production (DDP) (Ministry of Defence, GoI), and in knowledge-partnership with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) Management Academy, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) Academy for Excellence (Nalanda) and the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), this program is designed to develop the leadership and management acumen in the participants, necessary for fostering innovation and securing a strategic edge in the domain of defence production.
This document outlines the detailed information about the eligibility criteria, selection process, and application procedures for the Executive Post-Graduate Diploma Program in Management (EPGDPM) program at IIM Visakhapatnam (IIMV).
Eligibility Criteria:
The Applicant must satisfy the below criteria to apply for the EPGDPM program at IIM Visakhapatnam.
- Employment: Applicants must be on the regular rolls (full-time employment) of Department of Defence Production (DDP) (Ministry of Defence, GoI), Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), or Private defence sector enterprises.

- Educational Qualification: A recognized Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.

- Work Experience: A minimum of five years of full-time work experience after graduation at the officer/executive level or above (part-time, clerical, or apprenticeship roles will not be considered as work experience for this program).

- Remaining Service Tenure (Applicable only to Government & PSU employees): At least 15 years of service remaining at the time of application. This requirement does not apply to private-sector applicants.
Selection Process:
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Shortlisting of Applicants: Candidates will first be shortlisted based on their fulfilment of the basic eligibility criteria.
- Online Selection Process: Shortlisted applicants will participate in an online selection process comprising:
o Online Proctored Aptitude Test: Administered by a reputed third-party provider, this objective test assesses Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).
The test will be 75 minutes long and will consist of 60 questions, with 20 questions in each section, each carrying 1 mark. There is no negative marking. You can access the sample IIMV test paper using the link below.

o Online Personal Interview: All candidates who appear for the aptitude test will be invited to an online personal interaction with an expert panel.
- Statement of Purpose (SoP): The SoP (not exceeding 250 words) to be submitted by the applicants shall detail their interest in the program, and the anticipated benefits for themselves and their organizations.
Application Process:
- Online Application Submission: All interested and eligible applicants, whether sponsored or self-financing, must complete an online application form available on the IIM Visakhapatnam website (https://www.iimv.ac.in/epgdpm).As part of the application, candidates must submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) (not exceeding 250 words), explaining their interest in the program and the anticipated benefits for themselves and their organizations.
The final merit list will be prepared based on:
- Score in Online Aptitude Test (Proctor based)
- Score in the Online Personal Interview
- Evaluation of the Statement of Purpose (SoP)
- Weights for each component and any additional parameters will be decided by the Admissions committee and/or Academic Council of IIM Visakhapatnam.
- Recommendations or additional criteria from DDP (MoD) may be incorporated into the selection process.
- The final merit list will be forwarded to the DDP (MoD) for its decision.
Self-Sponsorship:
It is the recommendation of IIMV that candidates who are unable to secure sponsorship from DDP (MoD) or their employer may still apply as self-sponsored candidates.
