About:
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chair was set up by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi in the Economics and Social Sciences are at the Indian Institute of Management, Vishakhapatnam. It started its operations from February 2024 with the appointment of the first Chair Professor.
Objectives:
- To Provide an advanced center of learning that would enrich and advance research to assess, understand, disseminate, and implement the ideas of Dr. B.R. Ambekar
- To advance knowledge in economics and social sciences
- To conduct advanced training and research on past and present deprived societies of India
- To publish scholarly articles
- To develop methodologies for translating Dr. Ambedkar’s ideas of justice and empowerment into practical propositions and policy instruments.
The Chair will undertake research, training, workshops, conferences and field work to achieve the objectives.
