IIMV 7th Annual Convocation 2023
Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam on Wednesday organized its 7th Annual Convocation with great pride and honour. A total of 239 students have graduated from the institute with flying colours and proven the institute's excellence by rewriting the placement records of the institute.
The Chancellor, Rishihood University, and Former Union Minister Shri Suresh P Prabhu graced the occasion and delivered his Convocation address where he congratulated the young graduates and on a lighter note expressed his jealousy as he did not get a chance to either study or work in a place which is as scenic and beautiful as Visakhapatnam. Shri Prabhu emphasized on the role of externalities and how managing them is the new challenge that management graduates must find a solution for. He also mentioned that Managing Oneself is an important skill which any business school in the world cannot teach, and it should be developed by the individual him/herself. He also said that this skill cannot be outsourced to any agency or individual.
Prof. G. Raghuram, Chairman (Officiating) BoG IIMV expressed his heartful congratulations to both students and parents through his address. Sharing his experiences with the students, Prof. Raghuram emphasised that India’s future is in the areas of Social Innovation, Cybersecurity, Net Zero, Climate Action and even Revenge Tourism. He mentioned that the motto of G20 One Earth, One Family, One Future, aptly paves the way for young graduates to build their careers in the management sector.
IIMV Director Prof. Chandrasekhar M. presented the director's report where he claimed that the PGP students have created a new all-time record in placement season by achieving an average salary of 16.6 lakhs. Prof. Chandrasekhar also appreciated the faculty members for their contribution to research. He added that the faculty contributed to several government initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojana, Mission Karmayogi etc., through research projects and training programs. Prof. Chandrasekhar also got the attention of young minds by describing the fast-growing incubation facility IIMV FIELD which is contributing to the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem through various innovative initiatives tailored to meet the needs of the local communities.
