The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam inaugurated the Mid-Career Management Development Program for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), marking the commencement of a significant initiative in public health leadership and capacity building. This two-week immersive program brings together scientists from ICMR centers across the country. 

Prof. Prashant Premkumar Nair, Program Director, introduced the thoughtfully designed curriculum grounded in the 70:20:10 learning model. The program integrates key modules on leadership, strategic decision-making, resource management, gamified learning, and emerging technologies such as the metaverse.

The inauguration was graced by Dr. M. Vishnu Vardhana Rao, ICMR Chair and Former Director, ICMR-NIMS, New Delhi, as Chief Guest. He commended the program’s structure and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the leadership capacity of India’s scientific community.

Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, Program Co-Director, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of Dr. Lakshminarayanan, Deputy Director General (Administration), ICMR, and Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam, in bringing this program to life.
