IIM Visakhapatnam Expands PGPMCI Network with IIITDM Kancheepuram; 20th MoU Across CFTIs
The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) has achieved a significant milestone by signing its 20th Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Post-Graduate Program in Management for Centrally Funded Technical Institutions and Institutions of National Importance (PGPMCI) with the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram (IIITDM Kancheepuram).
The MoU was formalized by Prof. M.V. Kartikeyan, Director, IIITDM Kancheepuram, and Prof. M. Shameem Jawed, Program Chair, IIM Visakhapatnam. The PGPMCI program is designed to enable engineering students and recent graduates to integrate technical expertise with management capabilities. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, participants can earn a Diploma in Management in the first year, with the option to continue into the second year to complete the full MBA program.
Highlighting the program’s value, Prof. M. Shameem Jawed said, “PGPMCI empowers students to develop both technical and managerial competencies, preparing them for leadership roles in a rapidly evolving professional landscape.” Prof. M.V. Kartikeyan added that the collaboration opens new opportunities for IIITDM Kancheepuram students to enhance their career prospects by acquiring advanced management skills alongside their technical education.
With this MoU, IIM Visakhapatnam now maintains active PGPMCI partnerships with 20 leading NITs and IIITs, reaffirming its commitment to multidisciplinary, industry-relevant, and future-ready education.
The ceremony concluded with a note of appreciation for the collective efforts that made this collaboration possible. Students, faculty, and stakeholders from IIITDM Kancheepuram participated actively, reflecting enthusiasm for this transformative initiative.
Admissions are now open for the PGPMCI program. Eligible applicants include current B.Tech. and M.Tech. students of NITs and IIITs that have an MoU with IIM Visakhapatnam, as well as alumni who graduated in the last two years.
