IIM Visakhapatnam signed MoU with HAL Management Academy

HAL Management Academy (HMA), Bengaluru (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s nodal training centre for officer capacity building) and the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 13 January 2026 at Visakhapatnam to establish a strategic academic collaboration aimed at strengthening leadership and management capabilities in the defence sector.

Under the MoU, the two institutions will jointly design, develop and deliver customised capacity-building and academic title–granting management programmes in hybrid mode for officers across the defence sector, including (but not limited to) HAL and other Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), and will also collaborate on developing defence-sector case studies for academic use, along with other mutually agreed initiatives, projects and knowledge events of shared interest.

Through this MoU, IIM V further strengthens its contribution towards “Atma Nirabhar Bharath”, by adding it to the existing engagement with Indian Defence Officers’ MBA program.

The MoU was executed on behalf of HMA by Shri Arup Kumar Mallick, Executive Director (HMA), and on behalf of IIMV by Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty, Dean (Academics), IIM Visakhapatnam, in the presence of IIM V Director Professor Chandrasekhar.
