Mid Career Management Development Program for the Scientists of ICMR -Batch-III
The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam inaugurated the Mid-Career Management Development Program for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), marking the commencement of a significant initiative in public health leadership and capacity building. This two-week immersive program brings together scientists from ICMR centers across the country.
Prof. Prashant Premkumar Nair, Program Director, introduced the thoughtfully designed curriculum grounded in the 70:20:10 learning model. The program integrates key modules on leadership, strategic decision-making, resource management, gamified learning, and emerging technologies such as the metaverse.
The inauguration was graced by Dr. Anup Anvikar, Director, NIMR, who extended his sincere thanks to IIMV for collaborating with ICMR to promote biomedical research and enhance managerial skills. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the leadership capacity of India’s scientific community and highlighted the program’s focus on HR, finance, marketing, and management. Dr. Anvikar noted that the course is specially curated for scientists, with modules tailored to their professional needs, including business analytics, supply chain management, communication, and more. Drawing from his own experience, he also highlighted the evolving challenges in research, noting that science thrives when complemented with effective leadership practices.
Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, Program Co-Director, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the support and leadership of ICMR, Shri Jagdish Rajesh, Deputy Director General (Administration), ICMR, and Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director of IIM Visakhapatnam, n bringing this program to life.
