CRISP 2025 Conference Concludes Successfully at IIM Visakhapatnam
November 8, 2025: As part of the 10-year celebrations of the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV), the Centre for Responsible Management Education (CRME) successfully concluded the Case Conference on Responsible Innovations and Sustainability Practices (CRISP) 2025 today. The two-day conference, held on November 7 and 8, brought together academia, industry experts, and thought leaders to deliberate on advancing sustainability and responsible management practices.
The conference featured a series of insightful sessions and case presentations, with distinguished speakers sharing their expertise on diverse dimensions of sustainability:
- Shri Koushik Reddy, State Bank of India, discussed the evolving financial perspectives supporting sustainable business ecosystems.
- Shri Viswanadham Bendapudi, Principal Consultant and Founder, Turning Point Management Solutions, delivered a thought-provoking session on “The Changing Policy Framework of Sustainability in India in the Context of Nationally Determined Contributions: Opportunities for Sustainable Business Practices.”
- Shri Ravi Kiran Sivala, Sustainability, ESG & EHS Leadership, Sun Pharma, shared best practices and strategies for integrating sustainability at the board level and across supply chain operations.
- Shri B. Sri Ram Murty, Secretary, Bhagavatula Charitable Trust, spoke on economic circularity in rural areas and highlighted community-driven approaches to sustainable development.
The CRISP 2025 conference witnessed vibrant participation from academics, students, and practitioners across India and beyond. From over 100 submissions, 24 cases were selected through a rigorous review process for their originality, pedagogical value, and alignment with the ideals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Together, these cases span diverse sectors, technology, healthcare, energy, fast-moving consumer goods, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, fashion, and grassroots entrepreneurship, showcasing how organizations, leaders, and communities are grappling with the twin imperatives of innovation and responsibility. A key highlight of the event was the release of a commemorative book, case compendium, that captures the highlights and insights from the conference.
The valedictory session was presided over by Prof. Amit B. Chakrabarti, Chair, CRME, who appreciated the participants for their thought-provoking contributions and reaffirmed IIM Visakhapatnam’s commitment to advancing sustainability-oriented education and research. He highlighted that this is the second consecutive year of the conference, reflecting its growing relevance and impact in fostering dialogue on responsible innovations and sustainable practices. He also extended his gratitude to the event partners TimesPro, HPCL, and SBI for their continued support.
The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. Amit Shankar, Dean (Research), IIM Visakhapatnam, who emphasized the three pillars of sustainability: Profit, People, and Planet. He noted that while earning profit may be the easiest goal, true impact lies in driving responsible innovation.
The event was also graced by Shri Sridhar Nagarajachar, Business Head, TimesPro, who delivered the keynote address and shared insights on the vital role of industry–academia partnerships in driving sustainable growth. He commended IIM Visakhapatnam’s efforts, noting that “IIMV stands as a beacon, and this initiative is a novel step aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.” He also spoke about the Case Compendium, describing it as future-focused and encompassing several powerful and relevant themes. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Prof. Sumod S. D., who expressed gratitude to all speakers, participants, and partners for making the conference a success.
CRISP 2025 served as a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas and experiences on sustainability, reinforcing IIM Visakhapatnam’s vision of nurturing responsible leaders for a sustainable future.
