MDP on "Digital Supply Chain and Logistics Management” concludes

Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) concluded its 6-month Executive Development Program (EDP) on "Digital Supply Chain and Logistics Management”. The 63 executives ranging from senior to mid-level from 52 different organizations participated in the course.  

Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director IIMV, congratulated the participants and mentioned the need for a digital supply chain and logistics to support PM Gati Shakti Mission. In his opening remarks, he mentioned improving transport modal balance and reducing logistics costs by innovating available modes of transport such as railways and waterways. He also stressed upon the importance of improving national logistics efficiency and performance while linking it to the national mission of PM Gati Shakti. 

The Chief Guest of the event, Mr G. Sravan Kumar, Co-Convenor, CII Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure and Logistics Panel, & Director of Sravan Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd., Visakhapatnam, addressed the gathering about the first and last mile connect for improving the multi-modal transport infrastructure. He has shared the learning experiences of managing challenges of port logistics operations comparing pre and post-COVID-19.  He also highlighted the importance of digital tools such as blockchain and smart technologies for improving the visibility of logistics operations.  

Participants appreciated the course content and its delivery while sharing their learning experiences.   

Prof. Aalok Kumar, Program Director, thanked all the resource persons who shared the real-time cases during the content delivery while proposing a vote of thanks and urged the participants to utilize classroom learning for improving the logistics system of the nation and support PM Gati Shakti Mission.
