MGNF Students bring joy in children's lives with Diwali
Nov-04-2021
The first batch of Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship program (MGNF) students of IIMV participated in the Mivaan Society’s ‘Winter Warmth Drive’ at three orphanages - Care and Love (Madhavadhara); Manasu Girls Home (Simhachalam) and HOPE Blind Home (Vepagunta). As part of this initiative, MGNF students distributed earthen lamps, sweets, groceries, and blankets to seventy children. Speaking on the importance of this initiative, Avugadda Phanendra Naidu, an MGNF participant, noted, “Every year we celebrate Diwali with our family members, but this time we wanted to extend our warmth to other people too. We took this initiative in collaboration with Mivaan Society and spent some quality time with children”.
As a signatory to the PRME initiative, IIM V encourages students to empathize with the values of global social responsibility.
