IIMV celebrates Yoga Day
IIM Visakhapatnam celebrated International Yoga Day 2022 with a rejuvenating yoga session for faculty, staff, and students at its transit campus. Ms. Sharvari Shirke, a second-year student in the flagship PGP program, conducted the session. Ms. Shirke, a Yoga teacher certified by the Ministry of AYUSH (Government of India), has led over 300 Yoga classes at corporate workplaces, colleges, and community clubs. She took the residents of the IIMV through a series of 'asanas' (Yogic poses) and described the mental and physical benefits of each one.
Mr. Jayasimha Reddy Ankireddy, Junior Superintendent, HR & Admin, spoke on the significance of International Yoga Day, saying, "It’s essential to do Yoga or any form of physical exercise every day. Yoga helps in striking a balance within oneself, and people tend to feel refreshed and active for the rest of the day "
Following these celebrations, a study circle meeting will be hosted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in the evening. Sri Venkata Dhanyam Raju, CA, a yoga fitness trainer, will lead the program, which will focus on this year's theme, 'Yoga for humanity.'
