SANSHREY 2023 – Mega Alumni Meet
Sanshrey 2023 was a Mega Alumni Homecoming event hosted by IIM Visakhapatnam Alumni Committee in association with Alumni Office at the newly constructed IIM Visakhapatnam permanent campus at Gambheeram, Visakhapatnam. The two-day event on the 11th and 12th of February, 2023, was attended by nearly 100 alumni, Faculty, Staff, Students and the entire IIMV fraternity.
The formal ceremony was held at the Amphitheatre, a perfect place for the pleasant evening function, wherein alumni of 10 batches attended across all the programs like PGP, PGPCEP, PGPEx and PGPDGM. The Alumni now occupy top leadership positions in the industry.
Prof. M Chandrasekhar, the Director, inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp. Prof. Deepika Gupta, the Chairperson – CDS & Alumni Relations, gave Opening Remarks. Prof. Shivasanker Singh Patel, Coordinator – Academics & Research and Prof. M Anuradha, Dean – Administration, welcomed the gathering, followed by the Inaugural address by the Director, Prof. M Chandrasekhar.
In a panel discussion on ‘Life After IIMV’, students and alumni discussed the current industry trends and relevance of the curriculum in recent times, challenges that graduates face and ways to bridge the gap between alumni, students and Institute.
The morning of 11th February was marked by various sports activities to ice-break the interaction between alums and current batches. Sports like cricket, badminton, TT, chess and other fun activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the alums and allowed them to explore the campus facilities.
The event also had high tea, where alums interacted with the faculty and were happy to reconnect with those who have taught them. They discussed the changes in the Institute and academic subjects and gave their invaluable suggestions. A delightful dinner at the cafeteria followed the ceremony. The students and alums enjoyed a cultural night event marked by enthusiastic performances and music.
On the 12th morning, more than 20 clubs and committees interacted with the alums and updated them with the extracurricular activities at the Institute. The alums showed much interest in the activities conducted by student bodies. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and mementoes given to our alums as a token of gratitude and love.
The Institute facilitated the Alumni to stay in the newly built hostels on the campus to experience high-class facilities and re-live the joy of their hostel days.
