Management Development Program on General Management for DRDO Scientists
Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Scientists D and E started their 5-day Capacity Building Program on General Management at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) A.U. Campus.
Outstanding Scientist Shri PVS Ganesh Kumar from NSTL, DRDO was the inaugural session's Chief Guest, delivered the inaugural address emphasizing the need for learning the skills of general management as the mid-level scientists gear up for their leadership roles in future.
Shri PVS Ganesh Kumar said that it is pertinent for scientists to study functional management topics like communication skills, managing conflicts, inculcating innovative culture, understanding delays in project management, quality function deployment and other related topics. He also emphasized that these learnings should also be implemented in day to day professional lives to continue the knowledge process. He also stated that the 5-day program may be considered as a direction for future roles, vision of the organization.
Prof B. Srirangacharyulu and Prof Deepika Gupta, Program Directors extended warm welcome to the participants, briefed the participants about the journey of the institute and about the training modules and the program outcome.
