Inauguration of CVC-supported Program on Public Procurement - 10.08.2023

A capacity-building “Train the Trainers” program on public procurement, supported by the Central Vigilance Commission commenced at the Institute on 10/8/2023.

The Program was inaugurated by Dr S Karuna Raju, IAS (PB:1998), Chief Vigilance Officer, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd.)

In his inaugural address, Dr Raju highlighted the essentiality of transparency, accountability, probity, fairness, equity, competition, economy, efficiency and effectiveness in public procurement.

As pubic-funded, public-purpose, public-interest organizations, officers in charge of public procurement and vigilance must be watchful and should always practice logical reasoning, rational thought, evidence-based analysis and normative approach in procurement and matters connected therewith, in a manner the trust and confidence reposed in them by the government, business and society at large are reinforced, he exhorted.

The program is being attended by 30 senior-profile participants from the Central Public Sector Enterprises.
