IIMV concludes FDP on Institutional Building-Leadership for Academic Excellence in HEIs
A Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Institutional Building-Leadership for Academic Excellence in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) was organized by Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam and Prof. PRS Sarma, Post Graduate Program Chair. The FDP is sponsored by the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.
The FDP is designed in two phases. The first phase is in virtual (online) mode of learning and the second phase is in physical (on-campus) mode of learning.
Online sessions were conducted daily from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm from 20.02.2023 to 25.02.2023. The on-campus sessions started on 27.02.23 and concluded on 03.03.2023. Participants at the level senior Professors/Directors/Deans/Academic Council Members etc. participated from prestigious institutions.
Various topics viz., Key drivers for Academic Leadership, Strategies for achieving academic excellence, Mapping Indian values and ethos in Management Education, Strategies for developing visionary leadership for Indian HEIs, Challenges in academic leadership, Creating & developing a shared vision for higher education, National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in management institutions and its benefits, Developing transformational and instructional leadership roadmap, Role of time and stress management in teaching and research, Research methodology, Integration of multi-institutional leaders for effective teaching-learning output, NAAC/NBA Accreditations/ NIRF/ARIIA Rankings; and, Creating execution discipline at Higher Education Institutes etc. Participants worked on real-time projects and presented their learnings.
During the on-campus sessions the above topics were also discussed in detail. Experience-sharing, exchange of constructive ideas and knowledge-transfer were paid due attention to.
The last day of the FDP was dedicated for presentation by the participants on their understanding of the topics for implementation in their respective HEIs. The FDP concluded with participants sharing their positive feedback and highlighting the valuable takeaways from the program. Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Coordinator and Prof. PRS Sarma the Co-coordinator complimented the participants on the interest evinced by them during the online and on-campus sessions, resulting in engaged, experiential and enriched learning.
