IIM Visakhapatnam Launches Two-Week Faculty Development Program
Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam inaugurated a two-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Pedagogy and Research Methodology. The FDP aims to enhance the teaching and research skills of academicians. The program received almost 100 registrations across seventeen different states of India, including foreign participants from the US and China. It will span between 02-13 October 2023.
Welcoming the participants, chief guest Prof. Bisakha Majumdar - the Executive Education Program Chair of the Institute, elucidated the importance of research and teaching in the modern world and talked about the need for application-oriented teaching and impactful research in academia. She added that participants would learn about innovative teaching methods and stay current with the latest trends and technological advancement in their respective disciplines from this Faculty Development Programme. She also highlighted many certificate programs the Institute offers for young professionals to address the challenges posed by technology and industry.
While addressing the gathering, program Directors Prof. Chandreie Mukherjee and Prof. Amit Shanker emphasized that this program will help the participants to improve their networking and learn from experienced professionals in the management domain. They thanked Prof. M Chandrashekhar, Director IIMV, for encouraging them to ideate this program and the faculty members who will deliver on various topics during these two weeks.
