IIM Visakhapatnam Launches Five Month Online Executive Certificate Program in Financial Risk Management Batch -2

IIM Visakhapatnam recently commenced its second online "Executive Certificate Program in Financial Risk Management," a five-month specialized course concentrating on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks in financial activities. The primary aim of this course is to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective financial risk management and informed decision-making to protect a business's financial health and stability. The program attracted 62 participants from varied domains within the financial industry. Prof. Shalini Agnihotri, the Program Director, provided an overview of the course, emphasizing the continuous need for skills improvement to handle emerging types of risks. She highlighted the importance of risk quantification and management.

Director of IIM Visakhapatnam, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, discussed the importance of a risk culture within organizations and the significance of the BASEL framework in the financial sector. He concluded by discussing how this program could assist professionals in managing risk within their organizations. He also shared the key highlights about IIMV.

The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Mohammad Thophic Ji, MD & CEO of Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA).  He emphasized on the unexpected risks faced by financial institutions and the measures to prepare for uncertainties. He highlighted about managing credit risks in banks and the importance of foreign exchange and interest rate risk hedging.

Program Co-Director, Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, thanked the Chief Guest and participants for their involvement, underlining the importance of mutual and interactive learning in the program. She also expressed gratitude to Prof. M Chandrashekhar for his support in developing the program.
