Alumni Meet - Mumbai Chapter 2024
The Alumni Mumbai Chapter Meet for the year 2024 was organized by the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) on 18 th May 2024 at Hotel the Regale by Tunga, Andheri (E), Mumbai. The event brought together around 53 enthusiastic alumni and 10 students (who are interning in Mumbai) who arrived at the venue by 7.30 pm. The IIMV team warmly welcomed the alumni and students, setting the stage for an engaging and memorable evening.
The Alumni Meet commenced with a series of interactive ice-breaking activities designed to foster a sense of camaraderie among the attendees. This was followed by a gracious welcome address delivered by Mr. Somashekara, In charge of the Alumni Office at IIMV.
Prof. Deepika Gupta, Chairperson - CDS & Alumni Relations graced the event and addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiatives and efforts by the Alumni Office, Students Alumni Committee and Association for organizing the alumni engagement activities through out the year. She also appreciated the alumni for their contribution in the last year's placements and urged them to continue to contribute to alma mater's success.
The Alumni Office had invited Mr. Sumesh Nair, Co-founder - Board Infinity to share his thoughts about the importance of organizing the alumni engagements and alumni's contribution to the lnstitute's success.
Mr.Anuj Kuta! and Ms Divya Singh, Senior Coordinators of the Students Alumni Committee at IIMV, took the stage to provide the alumni with insights into the past and upcoming alumni activities orchestrated by the Institute. The evening continued with a presentation highlighting the noteworthy accomplishments in placements, presented by Mr.Pratik Bhavsar, from the Senior Placement team at IIMV.

Updates about the Institute:
The alumni were thrilled to learn about IIMV's impressive NIRF ranking of 29th among management institutes across India, securing a prominent position among the new generation IIMs. Expressing keen interest in reconnecting with their alma mater, the alumni expressed enthusiasm about future campus engagement activities and showed a desire to visit the campus.
Alumni Activities:
The alumni warmly applauded the initiative of organizing Chapter meets and other engaging activities through the Alumni Office and the Students Alumni Committee. Their appreciation was met with a promise of continued engagement.
Formation of an Alumni Association:
The Alumni applauded for forming the Alumni Association and through this association they expressed their desire to serve as valuable avenues for giving back to the Institute that played a pivotal role in shaping their careers.
In closing, Mr. Somashekara, In charge of the Alumni Office, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to both the attending and absent alumni for their enduring support. Additionally, he acknowledged the tireless efforts of the Students Alumni Committee and the previous Alumni Committee, attributing the success of the Alumni Mumbai Chapter Meet-2024 to their dedicated work. He reserved special appreciation for the Director and the CDS Chair for their unwavering support and guidance, which had a significant impact on making the event a resounding success.
The Alumni Mumbai Chapter Meet-2024 served as a platform for rekindling connections, sharing achievements, and reaffirming commitment to the institute's growth and legacy.
