MDP on Leadership for HSL o cers
23 SEPTEMBER
IIMV conducted a 3-Day on campus Management
Development Program (MDP) on Leadership for officers
of the Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) on 23 and 25
September 2021. Delivering the inaugural address, Shri.
T Venkateshwarlu, Chief Vigilance Officer at HSL,
highlighted the changing competitive scenario in the
shipbuilding industry and the importance of timeliness,
project management, and client management skills for
officers today. Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, in his address,
emphasized the importance of leaders of today to focus
both on resources and relationships and to promote
innovation as well as ethics. Prof. Deepika Gupta,
Program Director, also addressed the participants. An
output of the MoU between HSL and IIMV, this three-day
customized leadership development program covered
topics such as team building, communication, managing
interpersonal relations, leadership ethics, vendor
management, and customer relationship management. During the valedictory ceremony, Cmde. KE
Mathew (Retd), Director HSL, the Chief Guest, talked about the importance of failure management as the
need of the hour in a professional setup.
Sharing his experience, Mr. Sadashiv Rao, one of the senior managers attending the program noted how
this leadership program was useful to him, both at a personal and professional level, and helped him and
other participants in gaining insights into the practices of transformational leadership.
FDP on Digital and Social Media Marketing
23 SEPTEMBER
IIMV concluded a 4-day online Faculty Development
Program (FDP) on Digital and Social Media Marketing
between 23 and 26 September. Addressing the virtual
gathering at the Valedictory, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar,
Director, IIMV, emphasized the importance of Digital
media in our daily lives, and how social media has
become a major tool to connect with a larger audience.
Prof. Amit Shankar, Program Director, and faculty, IIMV (Marketing area), spoke about the relevance of
the program and how digital technology enables B2C or B2B buying and selling – influencing, shaping,
and sharing opinions about products and services. This certificate program aimed to provide a broad
understanding of all aspects of Digital Marketing to appreciate its application and deployment in
different domains. Over 70 participants, including faculty members, corporate executives, research
scholars, and students attended this certificate program.
