Professional Programme in HRM for HR managers at HPCL

IIM V inaugurated a 5-month Professional Programme in Human Resource Management for HR managers
at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on 28 October 2021. During the inaugural, Shri.
Suresh Shetty, Executive Director -Employee Relations HPCL, foregrounded the usefulness and importance
of inculcating three essential components of empathy, ethical governance, and analytical skills to develop

the right HR attitude. Shri Abhishek Dutta, Executive Director-Human Resources, HPCL, also addressed
the virtual audience and emphasized the importance of resilience, adaptability, and team learning for
today's HR managers.Prof. M Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM V, spoke about the importance of empowering
employees and the role of HR in an organization. Shri K Nagesh, Shri Sunil Sanas, and Shri S Mehdi,
General Managers-Human Resources, HPCL, also addressed the audience. This 5-month customized
program, directed by Prof. Balaji Subramaniam and Prof. Bishakha Majumdar, faculty at IIMV (OBHR area),

will be delivered in a blended mode (online and offline) and will cover topics such as Strategic Human
Resource Management, HR Analytics, Employee Relations, and Finance for HR.

MDP for HSL o cers
15 NOVEMBER

IIMV conducted a 5-day in-campus Management Development Program (MDP) for HSL officers in
November. In his address, the Chief Guest Shri. S.V. Rambabu, Director (Finance & Commercial) of HSL,
spoke about uncertainties in the shipbuilding industry and the need for innovation and willingness to
change in the workforce. Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIMV, in his welcome address underscored the
