20 HSL managers from diverse areas such as Design, Plant Maintenance, Submarine, Ship Repair, and
Quality Control attended this program, which was led by Dr. Balaji Subramanian and Dr. MV Anuradha,
faculty IIM Visakhapatnam. This customized program dealt with topics such as project management,
contract management, innovation, customer management, communication, stress management, and
interpersonal effectiveness.

Saksham: Leadership Development Program for IOCL o cers

The six-day online Leadership Development Program (LDP) titled Saksham for Grade E and F officers of

the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd was organized in three batches from 22 to 27 November 2021. Delivering
the inaugural address, Mr. Vippin Kumar Jain, Chief General Manager, eLearning and Development, IiPM,
spoke about the purpose of the Saksham program, the importance of leadership for firm performance and
investor confidence, and the role of emergent leadership during pandemic times. This was in the series of
three LDPs to be conducted for Indian Oil by IIMV. The objective of this program was to create the needed
leadership capacities towards gaining a greater appreciation for governance, institutional and policy
reforms, as well as the management principles, precepts, and practices, so that they can fulfil the
roles-responsibilities envisaged of them as mentors, facilitators, and champions of change, with

competence and confidence. Grade E and F officers of IOCL, representing departments such as Marketing,
Business Development, Corporate Communication, and Human Resource Management, attended this
customised training program that was led by Prof. Amit Chakrabarti and Prof. Bishakha Majumdar. This
program offered active training in strategic, operational, business excellence, customer, relationship, and
talent leadership. It will also cover critical skills in change management, leadership communication,
decision making, and work-life balance.
