Independence Day celebrations

Visakhapatnam, August 15, 2016: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) celebrated India’s 70th Independence Day today at its temporary campus at Andhra University with a plethora of activities. The students, faculty and staff of IIMV participated in all the activities with a lot of enthusiasm. The celebrations started with the Freedom Run, a part of MHRD’s ‘Azadi 70-Freedom Fortnight’, which was held from 9th August to 23rd August, 2016. The students from both the batches of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) — 2015-2017 and 2016-2018 — participated in the race. After the race, the India flag was hoisted by G. Janaki Ramachandram, Head – Academic Programmes and Administration, IIMV, after which the students’ and officials’ rendition of the national anthem and patriotic songs filled the campus.

After the flag hoisting, the Sports Club, along with the Hobbies and Interests Club of the institute, organised various outdoor team-building activities for the students.
