Foundation Course in General Management for E5 Level Executives of NTPC

A six-day customised "Foundation Course in General Management" was concluded for E5-level executives
of NTPC at the IIMV campus from October 17–22, 2022. The objective of this programme was to help NTPC
officers improve their overall management skills, move the strategy forward, and make it easier for them to
adapt to the constant changes in the organization.
Addressing the gathering at the valedictory, the chief guest for
the event, Shri Kasa Venkateswara Prasad, AGM (RLI),
NTPC-Simhadri, spoke about the importance of the training
program. He encouraged participants to constantly upskill and
reskill themselves to thrive in the fast-paced world we live in. In
his address, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM
Visakhapatnam, stressed the importance of continuous
learning and the relevance of applying the knowledge gained
from training at work. He also applauded the participants'
enthusiasm and zeal for learning.

Sharing the experience of the training program, Mr. Pothu Ashok of NTPC said, "The six-day MDP
programme, acting like a mirror, showed me who I am. They have provided the tools for it. One who is well
aware of himself and his team will lead them effectively. The vast and deep knowledge of the faculty and the
hospitality they provided will always be remembered. Thanks to IIMV for giving us an enriching experience.
I strongly recommend the programme for young executives who are going to be team leaders". Another
participant, Mr. Harish from NTPC, said, "‘The Foundation Course in General Management' for NTPC E5 level
executives from IIM Visakhapatnam was thoughtfully designed and well implemented. The contents of the
programme are a treasure, and it is a great learning experience for me, which will help me carry out my daily
activities effectively". Mr. Bharath Kumar Daram also thanked IIMV for providing valuable training and noted,
"I really enjoyed it, and I appreciate that you made it fun! I feel much better prepared to deal with
uncomfortable issues. Thank you for your wisdom, experience, and personable presentation".

The 6-day program, led by Prof. Vishal Singh Patyal and Prof. Saroj Kumar Pani, covered all the typical
functions of management with a special focus on topics such as foundational competence-building
techniques and advanced leadership aptitude, which are appropriate for future leaders to meet the
challenges of a highly dynamic business environment.

Leadership Development Program for the O cers from Voluntary Health
Services (VHS)

A three-day customized Leadership Development Program
was conducted for the officers of Voluntary Health Services
(VHS) at the IIMV campus between November 8 and 10, 2022.
Addressing the gathering at the inaugural, the chief guest for
the event, Shri Vijayaraman, Deputy Director, VHS, discussed
the need for continual learning and the function of such training
programmes in strengthening a leader’s overall personality. To
maximise their learning during the training, he urged
participants to observe the links between theory and practise.

Sharing the experience of the customized training program, Ms. W. Venkateswaramma of VHS said, "The
3-day MDP program was a great learning experience because it offered examples that are highly pertinent
to my field of work and introduced me to techniques that I can employ on the field."
