RESEARCH AT IIMV
We examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the administrative interventions
on stock returns across 21 sectors in India. Almost all sectors reacted negatively to the
pandemic announcement on 11 March 2020. The early lockdown resulted in negative
abnormal returns. However, this effect was transitory as investors gained confidence and
some sectors quickly revived. The unlocking led to positive abnormal returns across all
sectors, except chemical products. Click here for the paper

CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS
1. Prof. Abhishek participated in RecSys Challenge 2022: Fashion Purchase Prediction in
September, 2022 at Seattle, USA.His co-authored paper was published as part of the conference proceedings
titled ‘Proceedings of the 16th ACM Conference on Recommender Systems’. This paper provides the detail of
the prestigious ACM RecSys Challenge 2022, where over 250+ teams had participated from all over the globe.
The RecSys 2022 Challenge was a session-based recommendation task in the fashion domain and was
sponsored by UK Based Fashion AI Company called Dressipi.

He also took part in RecSys Challenge 2022 Dataset: Dressipi 1M Fashion Sessions in September, 2022 at Seat-
tle, USA. His co-authored paper was published as part of the conference proceedings titled ‘RecSysChallenge
'22: Proceedings of the Recommender Systems Challenge 2022’. This paper gives an overview of the content and
structure of the dataset used in RecSys 22 challenge, as well as explaining the process by which it was construct-
ed. It helps the research community to use anonymized version industry data set for further research. For more
