PROGRAM INAUGURATIONS
INAUGURATION OF THE EXECUTIVE MASTER OF BUSINESS
ADMINISTRATION (EMBA)

On May 21, 2023, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Visakhapatnam welcomed its first cohort of
Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) for Working Professionals students to its permanent
campus in Gambheeram, Visakhapatnam. Shri D Shivakumar, Chairman and Independent Director of
BurgerKing India and Operating Partner of Advent International, inaugurated the event in the presence
of Shri Anish Srikrishna, Chief Executive Officer of TimesPro, and Prof. Chandrasekhar M, Director of IIM
Visakhapatnam.
IIM Visakhapatnam’s Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) is a master’s degree program
designed to provide management education to working professionals pursuing skills and strategies to
improve the performance of their organizations. The program is provided in a blended format on an Interactive
Learning (IL) platform in technical collaboration with TimesPro, the foremost Higher EdTech platform in India.
Prof. Happy Paul, the Program Chairperson, stated that the EMBA Class of 2023-25 is comprised of 147
working professionals with an average of over nine years of experience in industries such as manufacturing,
IT, finance, consulting, ecommerce, telecommunications, and retail. In addition, he stated that the participants
will be on campus for a 5-day immersion module from 21 to 25 May 2023, after which the weekend classes
will be conducted online.
Shri Dattatri Salagame, CEO, President, and Managing Director of Bosch Global Software Technologies
(BGSW), addressed the EMBA program participants at IIM Visakhapatnam in a special address. The
session was arranged as part of the EMBA Batch 2023-25’s 1st Campus Immersion module. Shri Dattatri’s
presentation on “Leading in Changing Times” centered on the major changes occurring on the geopolitical,
technological, consumer, social, workforce, and sustainability fronts. He discussed the competencies and
leadership style required to lead in such a dynamic environment, as well as the importance of hypothesis-
based decision making, shared value creation, and multidimensional leadership. Taking the instance of
automotive industry, Shri Dattatri explained that the industry is undergoing rapid changes and how Bosch
is transforming itself from an industrial behemoth to a technology major.
Prof. Chandrasekhar M., director of IIM Visakhapatnam, stated that the institute is committed to providing
working professionals with high-quality management education and will continue to design and deliver
programs to help corporate leaders develop innovative solutions for business, government, and society.
Shri. Veera Reddy Dwarampudi, Head - Government and Corporate Relations, BGSW, and Shri. Manoj
Ekkundi, Manager Mobility Solutions, Office of President and MD, BGSW were also present at the event,
along with other faculty and staff of IIM Visakhapatnam.
