      IIMV HOSTS HINDI WORKSHOP

         07 JULY
      The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam hosted a two-day Hindi workshop to improve the

      language  proficiency  and  cultural  awareness  of  its  employees.  The  first  day  of  this  two-day  workshop
      included an introduction to basic Hindi vocabulary and grammar, the use of colloquial and Hindi phrases in
      everyday situations, reading and writing exercises to enhance Hindi comprehension, cultural insights, and an
      appreciation of Hindi-speaking regions.

      Shri  Kazim  Ahmed,  Assistant  Director  (Official  Language),  RCI,  delivered  a  lecture  on  the  topic  ‘Official

      Language Policy and its Implementation’ during the first segment of the inaugural event. He explained that
      the workshop is a one-of-a-kind chance to develop language skills and embrace the rich cultural heritage of
      the Hindi language.

      In the second session, he described and accentuated the various aspects of translations, such as verbatim and
      technical, that can be utilized to improve language skills. Later in the session, a Hindi competition consisting

      of translation, dictation, handwriting, and essay writing was also held. Prof. Amit Shankar, Prof. T. Sunitha,
      and Dr. Bhaskar Ram were awarded cash prizes and a certificate of appreciation by the Institute.

      Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director of IIM Visakhapatnam, expressed his gratitude to the chief guest and praised
      the efforts of non-Hindi employees who are perpetually striving to improve their language skills during the
      valedictory session. He guaranteed that the suggestions made by the principal guest will be prioritized in

      order to improve language skills.

      Mr.  Jelani  Mohammed,  Senior  Administrative  Officer  (Administration),  delivered  the  vote  of  thanks  and
      announced that the Institute will arrange similar events in the near future in an effort to increase the
      workforce’s Hindi language proficiency.
