OTHER IMPORTANT EVENTS & CELEBRATIONS
During his speech, Dr. M. Chandrasekhar, Director of IIM Visakhapatnam, highlighted Ms. Vani’s remarkable
accomplishments, underscoring her influence as a role model for future generations. He thanked Dr. B. R. L.
Row for continuously supporting and gracing the event each year with his valuable presence. He urged all
the students at the event to take up learning and co-curricular activities at the institute for overall holistic
development.
During the event, Divya Yadav, Pallavi Bansal, and Prapti Alok, the Vani Row Gold Medal recipients, shared
their perspectives on being medalists for the prestigious award. All of them expressed gratitude towards
Dr. B.R.L. Row and his commitment. They added that this award is a source of inspiration and needs to be
carried out as a legacy.
Prof. Shivshanker Singh Patel, Coordinator (Academics & Research), expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries
and faculty members for attending the event.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
15 AUGUST
The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam celebrated the 77th Independence Day at its
Gambheeram campus. The event commenced with a march-past followed by the unfurling of the national
flag hoisting by Prof. M. Chandrashekhar, Director, IIMV.
In his address to the IIMV fraternity, the director emphasized that Independence Day is one of the most
celebratory occasions for all Indians. He stated that the youth of the nation, through their engagement and
empowerment, can bring transformational changes to new horizons in every field. He added that it is very
important to inculcate qualitative skills in oneself while learning so that, once you graduate, they can play
a crucial role in building an incredibly progressive nation. He also referenced PM Modi’s strategy of ‘Panch
Pran’, the ‘Saptrishi’ priorities adopted in the union budget 2023, and the Invest India ‘4S’ principles, which
target making India a developed country by the time it celebrates its 100th Independence Day.
He highlighted the diversity present in the IIMV fraternity and expressed his gratitude towards the faculty
members and students who come from different states and union territories. He commended the dedication
of the faculty members that contributed significantly to IIMV achieving the 29th rank as a new generation
IIM.
This was followed by a cultural event where the Cultural Committee organized performances by PGP
students to celebrate the country’s unity and diversity and honor its freedom.
