MoU SIGNED BETWEEN MONASH UNIVERSITY, MALAYSIA & IIMV
03 AUGUST
The leadership team of Dr. Matthew G. Nicholsan, Professor & Senior VP (Research & Operations), and Dr.
A. V. Mohan, Professor (Innovation and Strategy), Deputy Head of School (Engagement & Impact) from
Monash University, Malaysia, visited the Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam, to sign an MoU
and discuss collaborative opportunities between the two prestigious institutions. The team was welcomed
by Prof. M. Chandrashekhar, IIMV Director, Prof. M.V. Anuradha, Dean (Administration), and faculty members.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Matthew G Nicholsan, Professor and Senior VP (Research &
Operations), Monash University Malaysia, spoke about the zeal and enthusiasm at IIMV in providing better
academic and research output. He added that this MoU signing would be mutually beneficial for both
institutions to bring new avenues and meaningful outcomes in the interest of all. He praised IIMV’s vision to
promote excellence in educating and nurturing entrepreneurial leaders. He added that being an academician
is a real privilege, as it upskills the mindset of learners to set their directions as leaders. He concluded by
thanking IIMV for the hospitality it offered and sharing that the institution’s synergy will be fruitful.
Welcoming the visiting team, Prof. M.V. Anuradha, Dean (Administration), briefly introduced the guests and
their academic accomplishments. She further briefed about the programs on the institute’s campus and other
online executive and certificate programs. This was followed by faculty members’ interactions over potential
collaboration between the institutions.
Speaking at the event, Prof. M. Chandrashekhar,
Director IIMV, emphasized the progress of IIMV
being a new generation IIM; he added that all these
excellences are happening because of world-
class faculty members, who come from various
backgrounds and are contributing to making IIMV a
better place for learning and research output, which
is comparatively higher than many institutions. He
further shared about more accomplishments in terms
of placements, research output by the faculty and
research scholars, and the focus on industry relevancy
in making students overall competitive enough for their
holistic development. He added that the collaboration
between the two reputed institutes will give a leading
edge to the research, and he is looking forward to this
tie-up.
Prof. Shivshanker Singh Patel, Coordinator (Academics
& Research), expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries
and faculty members for attending the event.
