Later, Prof. Chandrasekhar hoisted the Tricolour at IIM Visakhapatnam’s permanent campus ground in
Gambhiram and led a tree plantation drive there.The event was attended by faculty, staff, and students of
the IIM Visakhapatnam family, and the COVID-19 protocol was diligently followed throughout.

Commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Late Ms. Vani Row

IIM V commemorated the birth anniversary
of Late Ms. Vani Row, noted consultant and
investment banker, and daughter of Dr. B.
R. L. Row, Distinguished Scientist and
Philanthropist, on 6 August 2021, with the

Vani Row Memorial Address. Ms. Dimple
Parmar, Co-Founder and CEO of ZenOnco.io
and NGO (Love Heals Cancer) was the

Chief Guest for the occasion. Ms. Parmar
spoke about her life experiences that inspired her take up Oncology and assist people living with cancer and
stressed on the need to adopt healthy habits.

In his address to the audience, Dr. B. R. L. Row, father of Late Ms. Vani Row, reminisced about Ms. Vani
Row’s childhood and her IIM days, memorable events in her career, and her battle with cancer. Shri M. S.

Rao, Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya and Ms. Row’s cousin, also sent in his message lauding her
indomitable spirit and her continuing legacy.

Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM V, spoke
about Ms. Vani Row’s life and works, and her
impact as a role model for the future genera-
tions. The program had Ms. Parul Chaudhary

and Ms. Mansi Gupta, previous winners of
the Vani Row Memorial Gold Medal for the
best performer among women students in

the flagship PGP in Management at IIM V,
speak on what it means to be a Vani Row
Gold Medallist and their journey to professional excellence. The virtual event was attended by faculty
members, staff, students, and alumni of the Institute.

Ms. Vani Row, an IIM Ahmedabad alumna left her mark as a successful consultant and investment banker
in India and USA, succumbed to cancer at anyoung age. Dr. B. R. L. Row made a generous donation of
INR 22 million towards IIM V in the memory of his daughter, for the institution of the Vani Row Memorial

Gold Medal for top PGP women participants, and to set up an Incubation facility for young entrepreneurs.
