The Chief Guest for the event, Shri M.V.N Rao, Head – Corporate Learning & Development (CLO), Larsen &
Toubro Limited Mumbai, quoted the Chinese philosopher Confucius, saying, “No man has ever set his foot in
the same river again” in the context of the ever changing dynamics across the world. He spoke about how
a person needs to keep on learning and growing to deal with the continuous change around. He also talked
about the best practices to keep both the learner and the instructor motivated and engaged in a world of
virtual learning effected by reduced attention spans, and rapid changes in the environment. Prof. Prince
Doliya, the Program Director and Faculty IIM Visakhapatnam, introduced the incoming batch of students and
welcomed them to the year-long learning odyssey.
The one-year Executive Post Graduate Certificate Program in General Management has been designed
comprehensively to enhance the skill set of working professionals across all management areas, including
Finance, Marketing, Operations, HR, Strategy, Analytics, Digital Transformation, and Entrepreneurship.
Sixty-six working professionals from leading organizations in India across different sectors have joined this
program. The academic curriculum is comprised of a total of nine modules including coursework, workshops,
case discussions, and capstone projects.

Talk on “How to Lead an Organization and Manage Human Capital”

IIMV welcomed IOCL’s Executive Director (HR), Shri. Sanjay Bose. He delivered an engaging talk on “How
to Lead an Organization and Manage Human Capital”. His message emphasised true leadership and
communication. He also outlined the attributes of a strong leader, including empathy, business knowledge,
and timely decision-making. Encouraging students to find their life’s mission and suggesting that they strive
hard for it, he also recommended that they read the book ‘How Will You Measure Your Life?’ by Clayton
Christensen, James Allworth, and the book ‘Good to Great’ by Jim Collins.
