MDPS, FDPS AND CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMS




      FDP on PLS-SEM

         27 JUNE
      IIM Visakhapatnam  concluded  the 5-day online Faculty
      Development Program (FDP) on Handling Partial Least
      Squares - Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) on 1
      July 2022.Dr Amit Shankar, Program Director and Faculty,
      IIM Visakhapatnam, welcomed the dignitaries and gave
      an overview of the program. He spoke about
      the relevance of the program and highlighted how the FDP helped the participants to get hands-on training
      in using the most popular software packages, such as Smart PLS, & R. At the end of the program participants
      gained an insight into using the data analyses tools and interpreting and reporting their results from both
      thesis as well as from publication point of view. The certificate program, held from 27 June to 1 July was

      attended by students, research scholars, and faculty members in management and allied areas. Sixty-three
      applications were received which included students, research scholars, and faculty members in management
      and allied areas. The participants were from IIM Bangalore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Shillong, IIM Jammu, IIT Delhi, IIT
      Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Roorkee, IIIT Allahabad, DTU, O P Jindal, Punjab University etc.



      MDP for Canara Bank officers inaugurated at IIMV

         22 AUGUST
      IIMV conducted a customized five-day Management Development Program (MDP) for the Canara Bank
      scale-5 officers between 22 and 26 August, 2022.

      The  goal  of  this  MDP  was  to  help  Canara  Bank  officials  deal  with  the  changing  business  environment,
      challenges, and rising stakeholder expectations. The programme taught officers the essential leadership
      qualities necessary for achieving outcomes and excelling at the organisational level and further assisting the
      bank in enhancing its performance.

      The chief guest for the inaugural, Dr. Charan Singh, Former
      Chairman of Punjab and Sind Bank and Former RBI

      Chair Professor at IIM Bangalore, shared his experience
      and highlighted the need for asset quality review and
      urged participants to be vigilant of the dynamic business
      environment.
      Delivering the valedictory address, Shri Ch. S S Mallikarjuna
      Rao, the former MD & CEO of Punjab National Bank, spoke
      about the importance of gaining management skills and the
      need to constantly learn in one’s career as learning boosts

      the growth curve for every employee. He emphasised the
      significance  of  MDP  training  for  officers  in  their  domain
      of work. In an insightful conversation with the Assistant
