but my perseverance and hard work led me to become a Directors’ Merit List candidate when being at the
top was the last thing on my mind. I joined IIM Visakhapatnam with the goal of equipping myself with the
skills and knowledge required to transform from a purely technical role to a management framework, and

it has been an extremely valuable experience so far. I am awestruck by the number of facets there are to
running a business and the number of complex decisions to be made, and have developed a new sense of
appreciation for successful business owners, as what they do isn’t easy.

At IIM-V, I am fortunate to be taught by esteemed faculty having great industry experience. Also, my peers
from all over the country, with a great variety of experiences, hobbies, and perspectives, have been a constant
source of knowledge and inspiration. Initially, I struggled to change my rigid ways of doing things, as I believed
my way was the best. However, the people and the pedagogy ingrained me with flexibility that allowed me

to mould myself according to the situation. Difficult instances have shown me that I am capable of so much
more, and the good ones reflect upon how a great team will get the best out of me. From being overwhelmed
with the amount of work in the con week to being rattled by very few things, I have come a long way, and the

credit goes to all the people around me.
My second year is a whole new experience with offline classes, meeting the professors in person, living with
my friends, and experiencing the hostel life. It’s been 2 months already and time is flying very fast with a lot
of knowledge to grasp and adventures to experience. My learning so far has inspired me to go beyond what

I see, think, and believe. I am ready to unlearn, relearn and live my second year on a high note.
