PGP and PhD Program Inauguration

IIMV proudly launched its 10th batch of the Post
Graduate Program (PGP) and the 6th batch of
the PhD program. The PGP cohort consists of 338
students, 40% of whom are female. The students
represent a broad geographic spread, with 25%
from Maharashtra, 7% from Andhra Pradesh, and
6% from Delhi. Notably, over 70% of the cohort are
engineers, reflecting the growing synergy between

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM)
Visakhapatnam welcomed the inaugural batch
of the Executive PhD (Exec-PhD) program
at its permanent campus in Ghambhiram,
Visakhapatnam, on July 7, 2024. The Executive
PhD program is designed to equip professionals
with advanced research skills and knowledge,
empowering them to tackle complex challenges in
their respective fields. Participants will benefit from
a curriculum that integrates cutting-edge theory

management and technical expertise.
The PhD program welcomed 12 new scholars. The
inauguration was graced by Vice Admiral Sameer
Saxena, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command,
who honoured the event as the chief guest, adding
prestige to the ceremony as IIMV continues its
mission to develop future leaders in both business
and academia.

Following a thorough screening process, the
Executive PhD program selected 16 candidates,
as noted by Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, Dean
(Administration). The incoming batch comprises
professionals from diverse industries such as
manufacturing, IT, consulting, e-commerce,
engineering projects, and construction, with
an average work experience of over 17 years.
