Experience – My Internship Journey: Lessons Beyond the Corporate

World As a fresher, stepping into my first corporate experience as a
summer intern at ICICI Bank was both exciting and transformative.
Working in the private banking segment with Ultra High Networth
Individuals (UHNI) pushed me out of my comfort zone, helping me
grow professionally and personally. Interacting with ex-CFOs and
financial advisors helped me overcome my fear of approaching
people, leading to bold conversations, interviews, and securing a
key potential client. Beyond work, living in a new city and adapting
to a new culture taught me resilience and confidence. These small
yet significant moments, made my summer internship not just a
professional milestone but a memorable journey of personal growth.
Ultimately, this experience gave me the courage to trust myself,

expand my network, and interact fearlessly—a journey I’ll cherish for
           a long time.

ICICI Lombard (General Insurance) has been a very welcoming space
that provides an enriching experience. We interned in the Business
Intelligence Unit at the Prabhadevi office in Mumbai. Mumbai’s hustle
is known for its local trains, quick snacks, and punctual workforce. On
our very first day, we sought blessings from the famous Siddhivinayak
Temple and began our journey. I worked on market share analysis
and identifying sales opportunities for Engineering insurance using
IIB data (Insurance Information Bureau of India). The scope and
requirements were defined at the beginning of the internship, and
we were given the freedom to explore various aspects of the project
and create our workflow. Periodically, we had review meetings
to discuss project advancements with dedicated mentors and
guides. To represent large data sets in intelligible formats, I learned
Tableau visualization on the go, which significantly enhanced my
explanations and findings during the final presentations. At the end,
we had the opportunity to present to the technology head of the
organization, and it was an honour to receive feedback from highly
experienced professionals in the insurance industry. One of the best
aspects of ICICI Lombard was how well it took care of our travel,
accommodation, and food throughout the internship.
