year project involves training 76 functionaries (Fellows) in public policy and skills development and capaci-
tating them to work as an understudy to the Collector & District Magistrate in 76 districts of the country.
Phase-II of project implementation was formally launched by Hon. Minister of MSDE Dr. Mahendra Nath
Pandey on 13 February. Prof. M Chandrashekhar (Director, IIMV) and Prof. M Shameem Jawed (Project Lead
and Program Chair) were present during the occasion. The Fellows would be paid by the MSDE-GOI, a
stipend of Rs.50,000/- per month in the first year and Rs.60,000/- per month in the second year. The selec-
tion of Fellows, pan-India, would be carried out by our Mentor Institute, IIM Bangalore.
WORKSHOP ON ‘RAJBHASHA POLICY, RULES AND ANNUAL PROGRAM
AND QUARTERLY PROGRESS REPORT’

A workshop on ‘Rajbhasha Policy, Rules and Annual
Program and Quarterly progress report’ was organized at
IIM V on 19 February 2021. Smt. Suniti Sharma (Director,
OL), Ministry of Education, addressed the faculty and staff
of the Institute. She began the workshop by introducing
the audience to the provisions of the ‘Official Languages
Act, 1963’ and emphasized on the provisions of the claus-
es under Section 3. This was followed by highlighting the
important directions regarding official language policy
from the ‘Annual Programme (2020-2021) for transacting
the official work of the union in Hindi’ document. In the final section of the workshop, she recommended the
necessary steps that are to be taken for the promotion and progressive use of the Official Language Hindi
at the Institute.

7 FOUNDATION DAY OF IIM V

IIM V celebrated its 7th Foundation Day on 17 January 2021 on the
virtual mode. Shri P K Gupta, CMD, NBCC (India) Ltd., the Chief
Guest for the occasion, delivered the Foundation Day Lecture.
Shri Gupta spoke on the challenges before management profes-
sionals in an uncertain world and the importance of agility, adapt-
ability, and vision in the changing circumstances. He also spoke
about the upcoming developmental and architectural plans of the
new campus of IIM Visakhapatnam and applauded the Institute for
its planning, preparedness, and attention to detail.
Shri. M. Chandrasekhar, Director IIM Visakhapatnam, addressed the gathering on the cherished visions of
the Institute and directions for the new decade. The occasion was also graced by Board Members Shri G.
Raghuram, former Director, IIM Bangalore, and Smt. Malavika R Harita (Founder and CEO, Brand circle;
