Dr Sachin Taware, Medical Doctor from EFM, visited the Institute and engaged with the Medical Doctor in the
Health Centre (Dr Bhaskar Ram) and Team Vatsalya. The facilitating role envisaged of Team Vatsalya in
coordinating with health-care providers on the first part; the patient’s parents/guardians on the second part; and, the
funding entity (EFM) on the third part was discussed, understood and appreciated by all concerned. Team Vatsalya
was also provided with knowledge-transfer by EFM on the Standard Operating Procedure to be followed in processing
the cases.
The Team, along with Dr Taware also visited reputed hospitals in Visakhapatnam to elicit their interest in partnering with
EFM, for the Surgery Support Programme. As a mark of fruition of the initial efforts and reaching an important milestone,
an MOU was signed between EFM and Queen’s NRI Hospital, Vizag, on 17/1/2020, which incidentally was the Foundation
Day of IIMV.
