We are delighted to share that the research paper, "Values and emotions as drivers of electric vehicle adoption in young Indian consumers: Experimental evidence for energy policy design", authored by Prof. Anuradha M V, Prof. Vishal Singh Patyal, Prof. Preeti Virdi, and a co-author, has been published in Energy Policy (ABDC-A).
The study examines how non-functional psychological factors such as personal values, anticipated emotions, and personality traits shape EV purchase intentions among young urban Indian consumers, a demographically critical segment in India's mobility transition.
Highlights:
- Examines how values, emotions, and personality jointly shape EV purchase intentions among young Indians.
- Shows that Universalism and Stimulation significantly predict EV adoption beyond economic factors.
- Reveals that pride reinforces EV choices, while guilt increases future EV intentions following ICE choices.
- Highlights the role of Trait Self-Control in emotional responses and value-conflict self-regulation.
- Suggests that value-based messaging and policy design can accelerate EV adoption in emerging economies.
Congratulations to the authors on this significant research achievement.
