OTHER IMPORTANT EVENTS AND CELEBRATIONS





      Speaking on the importance of such initiatives R Sayikrishna Raju, Head (Projects), IIMV said,“This session
      was very beneficial as we got an overview of the DISHA SOS app. The app provides an easy interface
      to help people in distress and can give an intimation to the nearest police station to get the immediate
      help.” There were IIMV staff and construction staff from National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited
      (NBCC), Arcop Associates Pvt Ltd, Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Private Limited (SPCPL) who attended the
      session.The institute has appointed M/s. Arcop Associates Pvt. Ltd as an Architect, NBCC (India) Ltd as a
      Project Management Consultant (PMC) and Shapoorji & Pallonji as a construction agency for its permanent

      campus.Many students from nearby colleges also volunteered for this initiative. They helped the site workers
      to install the mobile app and briefed them on its usage at the need of the hour.



      IIMV celebrates Yoga Day

         21 JUNE

                                                        IIM Visakhapatnam celebrated International Yoga Day
                                                        2022 with a rejuvenating yoga session for faculty, staff,
                                                        and students at its transit campus. Ms. SharvariShirke,

                                                        a  second-year  student  in  the  flagship  PGP  programme,
                                                        conducted the session. Ms. Shirke, a Yoga teacher certified
                                                        by the Ministry of AYUSH (Government of India), has led

                                                        over 300 Yoga classes at corporate workplaces, colleges,
                                                        and community clubs. She took the residents of the IIMV
                                                        through a series of ‘asanas’ (Yogic poses) and described
                                                        the mental and physical benefits of each one.


      Mr. Jayasimha Reddy Ankireddy, Junior Superintendent,

      HR  &  Admin,  spoke  on  the  significance  of  International
      Yoga Day, saying, “It’s essential to do Yoga or any form
      of physical exercise every day. Yoga helps in striking a
      balance within oneself, and people tend to feel refreshed

      and active for the rest of the day “
      Following these celebrations, a study circle meeting will
      be hosted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India
      (ICSI) in the evening. Sri Venkata Dhanyam Raju, CA, a

      yoga  fitness  trainer,  will  lead  the  program,  which  will
      focus on this year’s theme, ‘Yoga for humanity.’


      Alumni meet Mumbai chapter

         22 JUNE

      The  alumni  Mumbai  chapter  meet  was  conducted  on  22nd  June  2022  at  Goldfinch  Hotel  Mumbai.
      Approximately 22 Alumni were present during the event. Mr. Somashekara, Alumni Office, IIMV, began the
