IIMV signs an MoU with Dr. Ambedkar Foundation
3 MAY
The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF), Ministry of Social
Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The
Director, IIM Visakhapatnam Prof. M Chandrasekhar
signed the MoU with Shri Vikas Trivedi, Director, DAF
at an impressive function held on 22nd April 2022 at
the prestigious Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. IIM
Visakhapatnam is the only IIM in the country to have
been awarded this prestigious Chair.
The revamped and strengthened Chair scheme has provision for the position of one full professor, one
assistant professor and two doctoral scholars.
The MOU was exchanged in the august presence of Smt. Anandiben Patel, Hon’ble Governor, Uttar Pradesh;
Hon’ble Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar, Hon’ble Union Ministers of
State (Social Justice) Kum. Pratima Bhowmik and Shri. A. Narayanaswamy. The Secretary, Department of
Social Justice and Empowerment Shri R. Subrahmanyam (IAS, AP:1985); Vice Chancellor, BHU, Dr. Sudhir
Kumar Jain, and Shri Vikas Trivedi, Director, DAF were among the distinguished dignitaries.
The Dr Ambedkar Foundation also launched thirty-one Dr Ambedkar Centers of Excellence (DACE) at
various universities. DACE will provide learning space and coach marginalized students to ace various
competitive exams such as UPSC and SSB. Noted educationist, Shri Anand Kumar, founder of Super 30
coaching classes was feted at the event (seen in the photo). The event concluded with the dignitaries
sharing their recommendations on advancing the mission of Dr Ambedkar, to bring about a transformational
change in the welfare and wellbeing of the disadvantaged sections, through higher education, employment,
entrepreneurship, and empowerment.
MGNF Project leadership team from IIMV visits Arunachal Pradesh

Prof. Md. Shameem Jawed (Project Director) and Mr. BNSR
Swamy Kosuru (Program Manager), who represent the
MGNF Project leadership team from IIM Visakhapatnam,
visited Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on 17 and 18 May 2022.
This two-day visit was for briefing various authorities about
the program progress and to propose further collaborations
to bring in expertise and knowledge for skill strengthening
at the district levels.
On the first day of the visit, meeting was held with Shri
KumkeBagra, Hon’ble Minister for Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh,
