Daan Utsav celebrated by Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam
8th February 2026
Daan Utsav, the annual festival of giving, was organized by Vatsalya- The CSR Club of IIM Visakhapatnam. As part of the pre-event activities, a month-long collection drive was conducted across the campus, encouraging students to contribute clothes and other essential items.
In addition, the “Happy Pot” initiative was introduced, through which students donated notebooks, chocolates, chips, pens, pencils, and other stationery items for children in need. The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response from the campus community.
The collected items were distributed to tribal communities in Udhaputu, Mangabandha, and Andhra Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram Matam in the Alluri Sitarama District. The team also visited a girls’ hostel accommodating girls up to the age of 14, where the items were distributed and meaningful interactions were shared. The drive was successfully conducted in collaboration with Vizag Volunteers, whose support ensured the smooth execution of the initiative.
The success of Daan Utsav and the Happy Pot initiative truly reflects Vatsalya’s belief, to grow by giving and live by caring.
