HRIDAYA 8.0 - THE FLAGSHIP ANNUAL HR CONCLAVE

The HR Club of IIM Visakhapatnam hosted HRidaya
8.0, the flagship annual HR conclave, at the Indian
Institute of Management Visakhapatnam’s permanent
campus. The event brought together industry experts
and academia to delve into the transformative impact of
Artificial Intelligence (AI) on talent acquisition. Prof. MV
Anuradha (Dean Administration, IIMV), set the stage for
the discussions by highlighting the pervasive influence
of AI in talent acquisition. She emphasized the need for
a paradigm shift in hiring practices, advocating for the adoption of technological advancements. Mr. Yogesh
R. Basole (Head Human Resources- CG India Sales & Marketing -Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals
Limited), the event’s keynote speaker, shared insights on AI’s longstanding presence in our lives, unravelling
its implications for companies and employees.
The first-panel discussion, moderated by Rashmi
Mansharamani, CHRO, The Wave Group, explored the
theme of “Ethical AI Implementation: Ensuring Fairness,
Bias Mitigation, and Privacy in Talent Acquisition.” Panel
members Dr. Tanaya Mishra, VP and Head HR, Endo
International plc; Dr. Bhanukumar Parmar Parmar, HR
Head, Sr. VP, UltraTech Cement; Mr. Bhooshan Malkani,
Director HR, Viacom18 Media Private Limited; and
Rajiv Naithani, CPO, Infogain, delved into the intricacies of AI-driven hiring, examining the delicate balance
between bias, culture, and ethics. The discourse emphasized the need for a paradigm shift, urging the
embrace of technological advancements while upholding fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics
(FATE). The panelists highlighted the potential for online impersonation and the need for organizations to
adopt a human-in-the-loop approach to AI-powered talent acquisition. They emphasized the importance of
auditing at every process stage to minimize bias and ensure fair and equitable hiring practices.
In the second panel discussion, Prof. Happy Paul,
Associate Professor (OB & HR area, IIMV), set the
stage for the panel discussion on “The Role of Human
Judgement in an AI-Driven World and Its Impacts”.
Moderated by Mr. Sabih Kidwai (Director: Talent
Management, Schneider Electric), the panel featured
industry experts Mr. Sanchayan Paul (CHRO at Modenik
Lifestyle Pvt Ltd), Mr. Atul Tiwari (CHRO at Spice Money),
Mr. Vaibhav Tushar (Human Resource Business Partner
