EXPOSURE VISIT DURING AM4
During AM-4, an exposure visit to the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS) in Visakhapatnam
was arranged for the MGNFs in order to give them hands-on experience and a better understanding of various
vocational skills. CEMS is a repository for high-end Software and Hardware courses and a centre for advanced skill
development in the Maritime, Manufacturing, Automobile, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Heavy Engineering sectors. This
centre equips candidates for Industry 4.0 with adequate practical knowledge on advanced cutting and welding
robots, mechatronics, CAD/CAM/CAA, etc. During the visit, the MGNFs were able to observe and participate in a
number of activities, including robotic welding, carpentry, electrical wiring, and computer-aided design. The MGNF
participants were extremely impressed with the center’s facilities and resources, and they valued the opportunities
to develop their practical skills. The center’s trainers and instructors were knowledgeable and provided insightful
perspect ives on the world of vocational education.
