            A Surya Kumari, IAS, delivered a distinguished speaker series session for the MGNF fellows titled “Citizen Charter.”
            She provided valuable insights and information regarding the Citizen Charter in India, enabling the fellows to gain a
            deeper understanding of the Citizen Charter from the perspective of district administration.
            A Citizen Charter is a document that outlines the services provided by a government, the standards citizens can
            expect when accessing these services, and the rights and responsibilities of both citizens and government officials.
            During this guest lecture, MGNF participants learned the significance of Citizen Charters and how they can improve
            public service delivery. In addition, they learned about the essential components of an effective Citizen Charter, such
            as how it can establish clear expectations, promote accountability, and improve the overall quality of public services.
            The lecture focused on exemplary methods for implementing Citizen Charters and overcoming common obstacles.
            They also learnt about the role of stakeholders in the creation and implementation of Citizen Charters, as well as how
            citizens can use them to hold governments accountable. This lecture offered some valuable insights and strategies
            for promoting government transparency and accountability.
