SANSHREY 2026 – Alumni Homecoming at IIM Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam, January 25, 2026: Sanshrey 2026, themed “A Mosaic of Memories,” was celebrated on January 25, 2026, as a grand alumni homecoming at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV). Organized by the Student–Alumni Relations Committee in collaboration with the Alumni Relations Office, the event was hosted at IIM Visakhapatnam’s 241-acre permanent campus, providing an ideal setting for reconnecting, reflection, and celebration.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of nearly 150 alumni representing batches across multiple programmes including PGP, PGPEx, PhD, PGPDGM, and Executive Certificate Programmes. Many alumni present hold prominently leadership roles across industries, reflecting IIMV’s growing impact in shaping successful and responsible professionals. Faculty members, staff, students, and members of the IIMV fraternity also joined the event with enthusiasm.
The inaugural ceremony was held at the IIMV Auditorium. In his opening address, Prof. Happy Paul, Chairperson CDS & Alumni Relations, briefed the gathering on key alumni initiatives. He highlighted engagement platforms such as Domain Decode, Elective Briefings, Case Competition Guidance, Wisdom Wave (one-to-one alumni mentoring), Aluminate, the Alumni Shine Series celebrating alumni success stories, and the V-Inspire Podcast. He also noted that IIMV successfully organized two-alumni chapter meetings in the previous year, each drawing close to 100 participants, and expressed the Institute’s intent to further strengthen alumni engagement initiatives.
Prof. Amit Shankar, Dean (Research), shared candid reflections on student life and the evolving academic ecosystem. Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, Dean (Administration), spoke about the Institute’s decade-long journey marked by growth, resilience, and innovation. Prof. Shivshanker Singh Patel, Chairperson – Post Graduate Programme (PGP), highlighted the role alumni could play in curriculum development and academic enrichment.
As part of the celebrations, the Young Alumnus Achiever Award (YAAA), recognizing young alumni who have demonstrated exceptional professional promise while making meaningful societal contributions, was presented. From 13 nominations, Mr. Pravas K. Sahoo (MBA 2015–17) and Mr. Nava Krishna A. (MBA 2018–20) were selected as recipients. Both awardees expressed gratitude to the IIMV community and acknowledged the Institute’s role in shaping their professional and personal journeys rooted in strong value-based learning.
The Chief Guest, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam, congratulated the award recipients and expressed pride in the growing achievements of IIMV alumni across sectors. He encouraged alumni to actively strengthen regional alumni chapters and reaffirmed IIMV’s commitment to academic excellence. Highlighting the Institute’s strong faculty base and growth plans, he emphasized IIMV’s core values of Academic Freedom, Equity, Excellence, and Professionalism. He also spoke about curriculum relevance, supported by structured Course Review Committees and External Academic Advisory Committees comprising academicians, industry leaders, and alumni. Prof. Chandrasekhar underscored the pivotal role alumni play in sustaining the Institute’s legacy and shaping its future through continued engagement and collaboration.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Somashekara M.N., Officer CDS & Alumni Relations, who expressed gratitude to all alumni, faculty, students, sponsors, and stakeholders for making Sanshrey 2026 a memorable success.
