IIM Visakhapatnam Contributes to AP Polices Future-Ready Policing Reforms: Vision 2047
IIM Visakhapatnam was proud to contribute to the three-day Future-Ready AP Police Retreat, held in Vijayawada to prepare the Andhra Pradesh Police for the evolving landscape of crime and strengthen policing through technology, innovation, and strategic leadership.
The retreat was spearheaded by Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, with a vision for the future of policing: "Our goal must be clear: to build an Andhra Pradesh Police force that is technology-driven, citizen-centric, intelligence-led, and future-ready." It was inaugurated by Smt. Vangalapudi Anitha, Hon'ble Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and Shri Harish Kumar Gupta, IPS, Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, bringing together senior police leadership, policymakers, and domain experts to deliberate on the future of policing.
Representing IIM Visakhapatnam, Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty, Dean (Academics), participated as a subject matter expert, contributing to drafting AP Police reforms for technologically advanced, future-ready, and citizen-centric policing ecosystem.
The retreat focused on key areas including Artificial Intelligence, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, Smart Policing, digital police architecture, counterterrorism, road safety, drone threats, and the safety and security of women and children. It also highlighted the 3P Policing approach- Prediction, Precaution, and Prevention- to enable proactive and preventive policing.
Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty's participation reflects IIM Visakhapatnam's commitment to advancing public policy, governance, and capacity building through academic expertise. As an AACSB member institution and a BGA-accredited business school, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to contribute to initiatives of national importance.
