Leading Self, Leading Teams: GRID-INDIA at IIMV

The three-day Leadership Development Programme for Deputy General Managers (DGMs) of Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA) concluded at IIM Visakhapatnam.
Led by Program Directors Prof. M. V. Anuradha and Prof. Happy Paul, the programme addressed key behavioural dimensions of leadership. These included proactive mindset and authentic influence, ethical decision-making under uncertainty, team dynamics and collaboration, transactional analysis, interpersonal effectiveness, self-awareness and emotional power, conflict resolution, resilience and well-being.
Addressing the participants, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam, highlighted the growing importance of managing relationships as professionals move into senior leadership roles. Referring to GRID-INDIA’s vision of global excellence, its mission of nurturing human and intellectual capital, and its values, he thanked its leadership, Shri Samir Chandra Saxena, Chairman & Managing Director, and Shri Amit K. Jain, Director (Finance), for their support towards such capacity-building initiatives.
Prof. Chandrasekhar also highlighted IIM Visakhapatnam’s growing engagement in executive education. In FY 2025-26, the Institute conducted 132 programmes, trained 6,200 participants and delivered approximately 3.35 lakh participant-hours of learning, around 25% higher than the previous year. Concluding his address, drawing from Otto Scharmer’s Theory U framework of an “open mind, open heart and open will,” he encouraged participants to embrace adaptability, empathy and openness to change in their leadership journeys.
The programme reflects IIM Visakhapatnam’s, an AACSB member and BGA-accredited institution, continued engagement with senior professionals across key sectors through focused executive education programmes.
